Low carb diet

A low carb diet is a diet that allows you to get a lot of energy from protein and fat instead of carbohydrates. A low carb diet provides 50 to a maximum of 150 grams of carbohydrates per day. The normal amount for an average adult woman is about 225 grams of carbohydrates per day. Besides the low carb diet, there is also the 'ketogenic diet'. Here the carbohydrate intake is even lower (20 to a maximum of 50 grams per day), but there is higher fat intake. This is because your body burns fats faster than carbohydrates, the same goes for proteins.
